Welcome to the Population Ecology Lab website!
We are a research group established in September 2016 and based at the Faculty of Biology, Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań (Poland). Broadly, we are interested in fundamental aspects of ecology, evolution, and behavior. Our research topics include:
- dispersal evolution and its role in population regulation and dynamics
- mechanisms and ecological implications of learning and information use in birds
- effects of demographic processes on population and community structure and dynamics
- niche modeling and wildlife conservation
We combine experimental and observational studies on wild populations with controlled laboratory experiments, phylogenetic and population genetic approaches, and theoretical modelling. Our study systems include plants, invertebrates, and vertebrates. Current projects focus on phytophagous and parasitic mites, and birds.
