Genetic variation, host specialization and ability to transmit wheat streak mosaic virus in the cryptic species complex of the wheat curl mite, Aceria tosichella (Acari: Eriophyoidea)

Description: The aim of the project was to assess (i) the infestation parameters of Aceria tosichella on several species of cereals and non-cultivated grasses, (ii) the genetic variation of A. tosichella populations, (iii) the ability of different A. tosichella genotypes to transmit the wheat streak mosaic virus, and (iv) the frequency of WSMV infections in cereal crops with relation to the occurrence of mites .
