The influence of temperature on developmental time and body size of Aceria tosichella (Bachelor project)

Description: The goal of the project is to estimate the developmental time of the phytophagous mite Aceria tosichella (wheat curl mite, WCM MT-1) in temperatures ranging from 15 to 33°C and the analyze the relationship between temperature and asymptotic body size of WCM MT-1. For this purpose we have developed a novel method of rearing eriophyoid mites on in vitro cultures. The results will enable the estimation of functional relationships between ambient temperature and time of development and morphology.
